The Development

A new mixed-use hub for Ladysmith's downtown core.

Latitude 49 is being positioned as a thoughtful addition to Ladysmith's commercial heart, connecting residential life, local business, office space, and public gathering opportunities within a walkable downtown setting.

The development reflects Har-Way's long-term approach to ownership, reinvestment, and community-focused real estate.

Logo Design

A visual identity shaped by place, purpose, and progress.

Latitude Forty Nine logo design

The Latitude Forty Nine logo was inspired by both place and purpose, honouring the project's connection to the historic 49th Parallel and the family business, 49th Parallel Grocery, while reflecting the future growth of Ladysmith.

The modern architectural form represents the mixed-use development itself: a place where residential, retail, office, and community spaces come together.

The central upward element was intentionally designed to resemble an arrow, symbolizing progress, opportunity, and upward growth for the community.

The flowing base line reflects the natural landscape and coastal setting of Vancouver Island, while the bold awning element represents openness and hospitality: a welcoming gesture toward the public realm and the community gathering spaces envisioned within Latitude Forty Nine.
